My favorite activity that we did through out the whole year in this class would have to be reading Ender’s Game because it was the only non boring book we read and because I actually found it to be quiet entertaining. My least favorite activity without a doubt was reading Fahrenheit 451 I say this because this book to me was easily the most boring book we’ve read all year. The activity I learned the most from is the survival island activity we did because I learned alot about survival skills I didn’t know. I learned what degree paper egins to burn. I didn’t really want to learn anything I was just hoping that we would just cover the same things we covered last year especially the Greek mythology. Nothing really prepared me for TAKS I wasnt nervous about it I just took it like any other test. Nothing has really prepared me for English three next year im just gonna take it like any other class and just hope I pass it although given the fact I tend to do good in my english classes so long as we don’t do essays often I should be able to pass it with relative ease. My favorite book that we read all year long in this class is easily Ender’s Game out of all of them it was the only one that was interesting. 232

Ender and Ralph are alike because they are both kids. They are also alike in that they are both boys and that they were on an object with nothing but other boys younger and older than them. They are also alike because they were both chosen to lead a group of people in order to survive. Ender and Ralph are different because Ender was the last hope for man kinds survival against the buggers , where as Ralph was one of other boys who took charge in telling the other boys what to do in order to survive. Ender was on a ship for the majority of the book and spent most of the book wanting to be left alone and allowed to go back home and be with Valentine. Ralph on the other hand just wanted to get off the island and go back home and hoped that one day a boat or a plane would notice him and the rest of the boys on the island and rescue them to take them all back home. Ender was trained on how to handle any situation he may face during battle where as Ralph had zero training and zero knowledge of survival skills. Ender was sent to a school to train him to kill and to make him physically and mentally stronger where as Ralph had to learn all of his killing and survival skills by force if he wanted to survive. I think I relate to Ender the most because most of the time I just want to be alone and be free to do whatever I want to without having someone be there to tell me not to do it. 281

I don’t think the way the children are treated is the right way to treat them , but it is doing them a favor. It’s doing them a favor because it makes them physically stronger and it makes there mentallity alot more stronger. I don’t think there being abused they’re just basicly doing in their worlds routine army drills. Plus its not like the teachers and adults are physically and mentally assualting them. The only thing I can see that could possible hurt them are the battles and the statistics leaderboards.I say that because it’s the only form of critisim they recieve that truthfully tells them how good they are and how bad they are and how good or bad the army they are with is.It also could cause them to be jealous of others or it could motivate them to get better and do more and more drill or pratices much like how ender did during his time with salamander army. No I don’t think Graff should be reported so far everything he has done was actually in the best interest for Ender. If Graff was to be reported I think it should be Anderson to report him because he knows allot more than anybody else because Graff always tells him what he plans to do next towards Ender. 218

Dink is some what correct most of the time parents don’t care if their child loses a game unless it’s a sport then they do care. Some parents are over competitive and push their children to be the best at every sport in the hopes that their child will make it big in one of those sports. No I don’t think Dink feels sorry at all. Their goal is to be the best soldier they can be, be ranked high on the leader boards for the battle room statics, and win every battle. I don’t really think I know anybody that wants to be a soldier , but I do know some people that do push themselves to be the best so some of the kids from the book are similar to the kids in the real world. Yes the children in the book are normal even though they are different from us they are normal because everyone is different and everyone’s definition of being normal differs. Yes I do think my childhood was fairly normal minus the fact that my father was in prison and then later deport other than that I believe my childhood was normal. It was normal because all I did was go to school, learn, play with my friends, go home, eat, watch cartoons or whatever was interesting to watch on the tv, and sleep. 228

I think Ender is gonna miss Valentine very much , as far as Peter is concerned Im pretty sure Ender will be glad to finnaly be away from him. Yes I do have sibilings I have four of them all sisters. I have a positive relationship with three of them which are the ones that are younger than me. The oldest of my siblings is the one I have a neutral relationship with. Theres nothing realy that I can think of that I wanna change about my relationships with my siblings I think there fine as they are no need to fix something that doesn’t need fixing. Well actualy now that I think of it I wish that my older sister would be more playful be more like my other sisters and just joke around instead of always taking everything so serious. 132

Censorship in the book is that the government has made it illegal for anyone to read or to even own a book. I feel that censorship is a good thing it. Yes there are times when censorship is justified like in video games the ESRB rating helps parents know what games are safe enough for their kids to play an example would be an E rated game meaning everyone can play that certain game where as an M rated game meaning anybody that is seventeen years old or older can play that game ,but even that fails as kids under that age can still play that game so long as their parent says they feel their child is mature enough to play that game. It’s also justified in movie ratings like a G rated movie which means anyone can watch the movie where as an R movie is restricted and only eighteen year olds or older can go in and watch the movie ,but just like games that fails as well because all a person needs is to find someone who is allowed to watch that movie and ask them to say their together that way they can both watch the movie. In my opinion censorship is always justified its never unneccessary. (212)

In todays society I think people have only stopped reading books. I think the reasoning behind that is the fact that the internet has all the information they need on practicly anything which takes away the need of any books that may have had the same information. The only kind of books peopl in todays scoiety might read are fiction books , but even then not many people do read those because for the most part fiction books tend to be chapter books and in todays society kids tend to put their social life that or they claim to not have the time for those kind of books or complain that it’s too long and decide that it’s not worth even attempting to read. Unless reading becomes the latest trend or “rappers” or “gangsters” become highly interested in reading books then I doubt Americas youth will ever become interested in it. I think there is one way we could make America’s youth interested in reading again we could do what the medi does to them and just constantly bombard them with ads of how fun and exciting it is to read books and even have celebrities tell them how great reading is , but i find that to be highly unlikely. 192

My favorite activity while you were gone was Group work I guess. My least favorite activity while you were gone was the reading. I am hoping that we will continue to do group work. I hope we won’t be reading any more books for the rest of the school year , but I know that the odds of that happening are slim to none. I also hope we don’t have to do so much silent solo work , it would be nice if we could talk while doing solo work or even better group work which requires us to need to speak to one another so that we can finish the assignment. I relize that the reason why we didn’t do so much group work was because the class had a hard time keeping the noise level down , but im pretty sure that with practice we could learn to keep it down. 150

I can’t say that I’ve ever felt guilty about anything. Everything that I have done or said i have never regreted doing or said or felt sorry for anyone that was hurt when I did it. Ms. Sosa the sub says I should feel guilty for not doing my work ,but i don’t . I dont feel guilty because I never feel guilty about doing anything even if somone got hurt it doesn’t bother me at all. When it comes to feeling guilty about not doing my work I don’t feel guilty about that because there’s no harm being done to anyone except me and my grades which I do care about but, I do usualy end up finishing my work so to me its all good. I don’t know why I don’t know why I don’t fell guilty for my actions I just never I just always thought that what I was doing was the right thing to do or the right thing to say or when it came to school I thought was the right awnser to whatever I was working on. I would only care and feel sorry for what I did only if I ended up hurting somone I actualy cared about like one of my sisters or mom or grandma other than that I would not care or bother to give it a second thought. I doubt I will ever feel sorry or care about anything that I do because if at this point I have yet to I doubt I ever will.

No I ahve never had a friend be jealous of me nor have I been jealous of a friend I’m not the jealous type. The only kind of jealousy I might have towards my best friend, George, who is more like a brother to me, is how much better he is at American Football than me and the fact that he is lucky enough to still be able to play it and hopefully land a scholarship for a good college team and hopefully one day end up in the pros. I didn’t do anything realy I just kept wihing and dreaming about hopefully one day being as good as him , unfortunately fate had other things in mind for me mainly ending my football career, so I all i could do was sit and watch George make a name for himselfs in front of high school coaches. Last I heard George had broken a number of records at my old school including ; All time rushing yards, all time rushing touchdowns, all time touchdowns, most yards rushing in a season, most touchdowns in a season, and most rushing touchdowns in a season. All I can say is I realy do hope he ends up as a pro one day. Word count 209
